On May 19, 2024, the 9th Youth Geoscience Forum was successfully held in Xiamen. This forum brought together many young scholars in the field of geosciences from all over the country, providing a broad platform for academic exchange. Two graduate students from the Hydrological Disaster Research Group of Nanjing Normal University, Xiao Yuanyuan and Zeng Tongxiao, represented the group and gave academic presentations at the forum.
Xiao Yuanyuan's presentation was titled "Study on the Relationship between Aerosols and Precipitation in Different Regions of China." She explored the impact of aerosols on precipitation, examining how different types of aerosols at varying concentrations affect precipitation. This research provides a reference for further comprehensive understanding of the aerosol-precipitation relationship.
Zeng Tongxiao's report focused on "Large-scale Rainfall-induced Landslide Feature Extraction Based on Remote Sensing and Machine Learning." She used remote sensing technology and machine learning methods to accurately extract the characteristics of rainfall-induced landslides, providing reliable data support for disaster warning and risk assessment.
The outstanding performance of the two graduate students not only demonstrated Nanjing Normal University's research strength in the field of hydrological disaster research but also contributed valuable wisdom and achievements to the development of the geosciences community. After the forum, participants highly praised the innovative research of the two graduate students.
